Mostly it's about the set decoration which consists of the entire town of Sleepy Hollow, built from the ground up to meet Director Tim Burton's vision of what Sleepy Hollow should look like. An awkward romance and a somewhat convoluted third act prevent it from being flawless, but it's more than just your average horror entertainment.Įxcellent atmospheric thriller is both fun and funny while being fairly frightening in some spots. It has his distinguished tone and style with plenty of colorful kills by one of the great horror villains of all time, the headless horseman. He's done a few horror films, but Sleepy Hollow ranks up there with some of his best overall features. With that said, once we get caught up as an audience, Burton gives us a juicy climatic showdown with the infamous horseman, and it doesn't disappoint. But the real issue with some of the mystery is that the third act reveals come at a rapid pace and the story gets a little convoluted. Crane, in typical Burton fashion, is a bit of an eccentric and unpredictable twist to his detective style. A good portion of the film focuses on why exactly a headless horseman is taking out certain members of the Sleepy Hollow community, with Johnny Depp's Ichabod Crane at the center of the investigation. And he handles it well for the most part. Speaking of the mystery, It's nice to see Burton tackle a mystery, which I believe is the only time he's ever ventured into that genre. I love the way he and Burton used the town itself as a character which is a part of the mystery. Sleepy Hollow is a much more habited town, but the same eerie tone is set brilliantly by cinematographer, Emmanuel Lubezki. To me, the creepiest film of 2016 has been The Witch, and that's large part due to the eerie 17th century setting on a secluded farm. Period pieces are ripe for great horror flicks. It's easily one of Tim Burton's most entertaining adventures to date. Situated on a low traffic country road, this property has the privacy most look for.Sleepy Hollow manages to impressively balance out a brutally graphic premise with an interesting mystery and decidedly timely humor. Sleepy Hollow Farm is a special and unique farm offering privacy, natural beauty and everything needed to fulfill your life. A workshop attached to the rear of the garage is perfect for hobbies or gardening potting shed. Separate from the house is a three car garage with a full upstairs room that could be converted as a guest or nanny suite. Plus a large dry storage hanger with a full roll up door, suitable for storing your antique cars or boats. There is ample clear land for grazing as well and six bay drive shed for tractors, trailers or lawn-movers. The outbuildings consist of a large 103 years old barn in very good clean condition with ample room in the lower level that could be converted for horses. Maple firewood is in abundance for the stone fireplace in the farmhouse. The neighborhood wildlife consists of wild turkeys, lots of deer and birds of all kinds. Sleepy Hollow Farm is on a forest of pine and hardwood with groomed trails for walking, driving or riding horses. There is an enclosed sunroom with a large hot tub overlooking the forest and trout filled, natural spring fed pond. A covered porch at the front of the house offers the perfect place to relax at the end of the day with more decks at the side of the house. The basement is high and dry with lots of room for storage or a wine cellar. A ground floor laundry room with bathroom, attached mud room and large wood storage building as well. There is a separate dinning room and large living-family room with a natural stone fireplace.
The downstairs level offers a large kitchen area with a 100 year old upgraded natural wood stove in good working condition. There are four bedrooms plus an office in the upstairs level with a full bathroom and a small ensuite. The farm house of nearly 100 years is in very good condition with loads of potential. Located in the beautiful hills of Hockley Valley and Mono Township in Ontario Canada, Sleepy Hollow Farm is a unique 50 acre (20 hectares) country home or retreat situated in a very desirable area of beautiful farms, homes and country properties.
